Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other networking components to meet business requirements and performance objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and network congestion issues.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of our data and systems.
  • Lead the planning and execution of network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal downtime and uninterrupted network services.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to restore network functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network systems with other IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, and cloud services.
  • Maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in networking and security, recommending improvements to enhance our network capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
  • Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Previous experience in network automation and scripting using Python or other scripting languages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A relevant Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a minimum of [X] years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level networks.
