Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
  • Install, configure, and monitor system hardware, software, and networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Manage and troubleshoot issues related to servers, operating systems, networks, and applications, promptly resolving them to minimize downtime.
  • Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Perform system backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and implement new technologies, tools, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior system administrators and help desk personnel, assisting them in resolving complex issues.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and security standards, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and security.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning tools, and the ability to optimize system performance and scalability.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automating routine system administration tasks.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and experience with IT service management processes is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as a Senior System Administrator or similar role, with a track record of successfully managing and maintaining complex IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting server hardware, storage systems, and networking devices.
  • Strong understanding of system administration principles, practices, and tools, including operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and server virtualization.
